How Rivo Works
Rivo brings together what you, your child’s educators, and specialists see. It also adds your child’s own check-ins with Rivo Ripple. Everyone works from the same growing picture. That picture shows your child’s strengths, interests, skills, and what they are ready for next.
Rivo helps you understand your child. It does not diagnose.
The Journey
It starts with a short screening and grows into a shared picture of your child, with your child at the centre of every step.
Start with a short screening. Tell us about your child’s strengths, interests, and what you see at home. You can invite one or more teachers to share too. You and their teachers can also add past reports, evaluations, or work samples.
With your permission, your child makes their own avatar and meets Rivo Ripple. It talks with them about their day and their interests. Over time, it helps their team understand them better.
Rivo puts together what family, teachers, specialists, and your child share. It looks for patterns across all six areas and shows how they connect.
Your Rivo Report turns what Rivo learned into a plan. It has ideas that build on strengths, the right kinds of support, and clear next steps. If a closer look would help, it will say so.
Sometimes the report suggests a closer look at one area, like math, reading, or social skills. Looking closer will show what your child has already mastered, what they are still learning, and the best place to start.
Your child participates in the activities with Rivo Ripple beside them. It feels like taking part, not taking a test. Specialists can then set goals and use what they learn to adjust support.
Progress, check-ins, goals, and support all stay in one place. As your child gets help, Rivo Ripple shares what is changing so specialists can adjust.
For areas where your child participated in a closer look, the team reviews progress every three months while Rivo keeps looking at the whole child the entire time.

What Rivo Looks At
Learning, communication, emotions, sensory and motor development, relationships, and everyday skills are all connected. Rivo looks at them together to reveal what makes your child unique, and what they need to thrive.
We look at what your child is already good at, what pulls their interest and curiosity, how they like to learn, what builds their confidence, and any areas of giftedness, including twice-exceptional (2e) learners.
We look at how your child reads, writes, and works with numbers, using real work samples alongside their attention, memory, planning, and problem-solving skills.
We look at how your child understands and uses language, communicates socially, builds friendships, and connects with the people around them.
We look at how your child manages emotions, handles frustration, and stays motivated, along with their executive functioning, impulse control, mood, and everyday patterns of behavior.
We look at your child’s sensory needs and sensitivities, along with their fine motor, visual motor, visual perception, and gross motor skills, handwriting, and coordination.
We look at your child’s developmental milestones, relevant health history, hearing and vision, previous evaluations and services, and the everyday experiences and family context that shape their world.
Rivo helps you understand your child. It doesn’t diagnose.
The Six Areas
Your child’s Ripples are the patterns that show up when you look across these areas. Each one is described here in everyday language.
Talents, passions, how they learn best, and what builds confidence.
Why it comes first: what your child loves and does well is where support starts. Build on strengths. Follow interests. Grow with confidence.
Reading, writing, math, focus, memory, planning, and problem-solving.
What it can look like: understanding the lesson but not finishing the work. Reading that takes extra effort. Great ideas that are hard to get on paper. Losing track in a math problem.
Speech, language, social skills, and friendships.
What it can look like: knowing the answer but finding it hard to say. Taking things very literally. Group talks that are hard to follow. Friendships that take extra effort.
Big feelings, frustration, motivation, worries, and mood.
What it can look like: small changes feeling huge. Giving up when something is hard. Strong reactions. Trying so hard that everything feels tiring.
Sensory needs, movement, coordination, handwriting, and visual motor skills.
What it can look like: sounds, lights, or textures feeling overwhelming. Handwriting taking extra time or effort. Sports or games that require coordination feeling harder. Needing to move to help with focus or thinking.
Milestones, health, past evaluations, and family life.
Why it matters: your child’s story did not start at the screening. What you have tried, and what home and school are like, all help find support that fits.
How Rivo brings them together
Rivo looks at all six areas at the same time. It adds your child’s own voice from Rivo Ripple. Together they show your child’s Ripples: how their strengths, interests, and challenges connect.
Your Rivo Report turns this into a plan for home, school, and your child’s care team. Once support begins, specialists can follow progress through information gathered by Rivo Ripple without making every step feel like another test. Everything stays in one shared place, so everyone works from the same picture.
