What this means in practice
Your Family Stays in Control.
- You decide who is on your child’s team. Teachers and specialists take part because you invite them, and you can change that at any time.
- Consent comes first. A child takes part in Rivo Reflect only with a parent or guardian’s permission, and that permission can be withdrawn.
- Information is used to support your child. Not to advertise to your family, and never to build a profile of your child for anyone else’s purposes.
- You can see, correct, export, and delete. Your child’s information belongs to your family.
- People stay in the loop. Patterns that Rivo notices are there to inform the people supporting your child, not to replace their judgment.

The rules we are building to

Rivo is being built to meet the laws that protect children, families, and students. Our draft Privacy Policy explains each in detail.
COPPA
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act governs how online services collect information from children under 13. Rivo collects a child’s information only with a parent or guardian’s verifiable consent, and parents can review, delete, and refuse further collection.
CCPA / CPRA
California residents have the right to know, correct, and delete personal information, to limit the use of sensitive information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Rivo does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context advertising.
FERPA and student privacy
When a school shares student records, Rivo acts under the school’s direction and uses that information only for the educational purpose agreed, in line with FERPA and state student-privacy laws.
